This notebook contains the timeline of our iGEM journey, with some milestones and events in which we participated.

February

Week -11 (25th of February – 3rd of March)

Kick off meeting iGEM, with a presentation of the Wageningen 2017 iGEM team. Students filled in an application form.

March

Week -10 (4th of March – 10th of March)

Start brainstorming projects at the weekly Tuesday Meetings.

Week -9 (11th of March – 17th of March)

Brainstorming projects.

Week -8 (18th of March – 24th of March)

Brainstorming projects.

Week -7 (25th of March – 31st of March)

April

Week -6 (1st of April – 7th of April)

Brainstorming projects.

Week -5 (8th of April – 14th of April)

Decided on two projects: phages for treatment of food and phage therapy against Xylella fastidiosa.

Week -4 (15th of April – 21st of April)

Formed the final student team. 

Week -3 (22nd of April – 28th of April)

Decided upon a final project: Xylencer (phage and divided the team roles among the students.

Week -2 (29th of April – 5th of May)

Joined the European meetup in Bonn

May

Week -1 (6th of May – 12th of May)

Finished our last exams before starting full time on iGEM.

Week 1 (13th of May – 19th of May)

Got our own office and started working fulltime. Divided subprojects among the team members.

Week 2 (20th of May – 26th of May)

We joined the Dutch Biotechnology Conference and the BCF career event.

Week 3 (27th of May – 2nd of June)

Gave an interactive lecture at the Dutch National Biology Olympiad.

Week 4 (3rd of June – 9th of June)

We joined the European meetup organized by the Rathenau Institute and RIVM.

Week 6 (17th of June – 23rd of June)

We presented our project for all members of the laboratories we are associated with.

Week 7 (24th of June – 30th of June)

Visited the HollandBIO biotechnology congress.

July

Week 8 (1st of July – 7th of July)

Joined the 13th Annual Biotechnological Congress (BAC) in Madrid

Week 10 (15th of July – 21st of July)

We had fun at the European Meetup in Paris.

Presented our project at the Freemasonry in Enschede.

Joined the Dutch iGEM meetup.

Presented iGEM and our project to new first year bachelor and master students.
