Public Engagement
In order to inspire more and more people to know about iGEM competition, our research project, and participate in the action of sewage treatment, our team specially set up a WeChat public subscription account to introduce us and to update our research project.
WeChat is the most common communication platform for Chinese people. People can post their mood, status and even advertisements in WeChat social circle, just like twitter, while WeChat public account is one of the important media means for enterprises or organizations to convey information to the public. In China, enterprises of all sizes have their own WeChat official accounts for image promotion and maintenance.
In the tweets of our registered official account, we introduce the harm of water pollution from the perspectives of biology and economics respectively, so that people realize the importance of water pollution control. At the same time, we also show our experimental progress and social research results to the public on the official account. The following is a screenshot of some of our official accounts:
From the establishment of the official account to August 1, 2019, we have accumulated 62 followers, and the total number of readers has reached 2,557.Here's our analysis:
User analysis
According to the picture, we can see that the number of people who follow our official account keeps rising, and more people know about m-phenylenediamine and related information. At the same time, the growing trend of the number of people who follow our account provides certain reference significance for our subsequent marketing
Content analysis
Through the analysis of the reading content, we find that more than 50% of the reading volume comes from the forwarding of social circle, which is also the reading habit of the vast majority of Chinese people. At the same time, the form of friend forwarding is another major means of promotion, which provides reference for our future promotion on the online platform, we will further strengthen the social circle publicity, and let more people to pay attention to our public subscription number. Meanwhile, we will strengthen international promotion in the future, such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other media platforms where young people gather and have rich audiences.
