Safety
General laboratory safety:
Before we started the experiment, everyone received professional experimental safety training about the use of equipment, clothing and diet in the laboratory, etc. We always wear lab coats and gloves when we do experiments and make sure all the researchers are on their own part of experiment.
As genetically engineered e. coli was used in the experiment, we took great care in each step to ensure that the strains used in the experiment did not leak out into the external environment. Disposable bacterial culture tubes or petri dishes, for example, were sterilized at high temperature before being discarded.
Specific laboratory safety:
Considering that our project needs to use azo dye samples for decolorization experiment, and some azo dyes are toxic and harmful to human body, we also made careful consideration when selecting dye samples. Choosing dyes that are not easy to decompose at room temperature and will not produce toxic and harmful substances in the experimental processes is always a vital work. Lastly, remember to wear gloves when touching the dye sample to ensure that the skin does not touch the dye sample.
