  • I am Mindy Liu from the Governor’s Academy. I was originally assigned to wet team, but due to lack of people in dry team co-worked with dry team members for the first four days. All the students in the team are extremely thoughtful, it’s good to work with many of them to achieve the goals which we set in the beginning of the activities. I wouldn’t say that I am assigned to a specific role or job; I was communicating between the teachers, dry teams and the wet team, and attempt to follow up with all the activities they did in different days. Then the rest of the time was to stay in the lab and run tests with different amounts of regents for Cas12a reaction and PCR.

  • I am Jiamao Ni from Shanghai High School International Division. It's my first year attending iGEM, but it won't be my last year attending iGEM. In my team, I'm in charge of not only the Human Practice but also the product design. Because, personally, the best marketing manager is the manager that comprehends the product and is able to list all of the advantages easily. Meanwhile, this rule is also suitable for a product designer who gets in the market and seeks out the true need from the customers then constitute it in his/her design. That's the reason why I join both sections to present our design in detail and modify our product to match the expectations.

  • Hello! I am Betty, a student from Shanghai Pinghe School. It is my first time participating in iGEM as a team leader, and I’m soooooo excited about it! I mainly focus on the “wet team” to design and actually do the experiments. What’s more, I also design the poster and logo for our team. It is my first time to actually get into the lab and create something myself, and it is such a great and exciting experience! It is, to be honest, kind of annoying when the experiments fail over and over again and we cannot find the reasons. But when the right result comes out, I haven’t been so happy before! Beyond iGEM, I am fond of animation and drawing some fan works.

    Experiment designing and conducting
    Experiment reports’ collecting
    Posters and logos’ designing
    Products’ promoting

By the first view of genetic engineering, I thought I was reading double Dutch. The first step is always the hardest. Though it is a hard nut, I’m not going to giving up. This is my first time to take part in IGEM contest. As the smallest student in my team, I will do as well as I can to help the team and share the responsibility. I’m a challenger, I came for the study, I came for the teamwork and I also came for the achievement.
