Tingzhen Liu
Tingzhen Liu, from SHSBNU, G11. He is immersed in the field of biology and medicine from a young age and has a dream of being the top researcher in his professional career in the future. As he experiences of lab and project are gotten gradually by reading a large variety of related books, he can manage the lab easily and efficiently, thus accelerating the progress of experiment and giving advice to his teammates for increasing productivity and avoiding mistakes. No matter how busy he is, he can actively involve in the project as quick as possible and has done a lot of missions that seem impossible for an ordinary researcher. There is not any excuse for him not to be the leader in SHSBNU_China 2019. Nice job!

Hanxiao Zhang
Hanxiao Zhang, from SHSBNU grade 11. He likes to discover the advanced biological technology, which inspires him to devote in the experiment and analyzing the data. The reason why he interested in iGEM is that he considers iGEM as an good opportunity to develop his skills and ability. In the spare time he would like to play some music instruments such as guitar and piano; although he may not play them well, he still can get relaxing and happiness while In that time. He thinks music is the best cure of any pessimistic in the world.

Haocong Li
Haocong Li, from SHSBNU, G12. He admires the great power of nature and the development of current development of synthetic biology. Growing up from a lab destroyer, he has become an iGEMer for the second time. He wants to enrich the knowledge of biology to make the world a better place one time. Additionally, he loves classical music and always explores it when waiting PCR and revival of competent cells. He wants to work harder and quicker when listening to Russian music, especially the music pieces of Shostakovich and Khachaturian. He is also a loyal aviation fan and always goes to the local airport to spot the airplanes, and he thinks that the most enjoyable time of the journey is the time during flight.

Kangxuan Rong
Kangxuan Rong, from SHSBNU grade 11. Rong has touched on many fields in designing, board painting, and riding monocycle. Subscribed biology articles, rock music and history documentaries are her favorite. Rong values the chance of being a member of the team. Wishing the competition can help her be equipped with basic genetic biology knowledge and experiment skill. She found herself enjoy learning biology and wants to spend a life chasing stories to tell. Rong wants to step further in biology field by absorbing knowledge continuously. On her way of completing unique but healthy personality, she believes that Manners maketh man.

Yanchao Zhang
Yanchao Zhang, from SHSBNU, grade 11. Zhang is very interested in mathematics and computer technology, but he is a novice in the field of biology. Zhang was glad to joined in to SHSBNU gem team and hope he can help the team in math model and other things about computer. Although Zhang is the trio in the biology but, his strong adaptability allowed him to keep up with the team and then he had a strong interest and love for the biology. During the free time in the vacation, he taught himself MATLA and Adobe Dreamweaver in order to help the team making mathematics model and developed wiki. He hope during the Igem competition he can learn more biology skills to broaden his horizons.

Hang Cao, from SHSBNU, grade 11. As one of the team members, he helped our experimental process. He likes biology very much and plans to major in biology in his university. Yunmai Wang
Yunmai Wang is an outstanding 11-grade student in Beijing, China, as a member of SHSBNU_China he is willing to contribute for the team in mathematical modeling and wiki design. At the news of participating in the IGEM competition, he is excited and anxious to enrich his knowledge in biological field, so he joined the biology club and learned a lot about synthetic biology. He also gained unforgettable experience in project design and experiment. He believes that the IGEM competition will bring about not only knowledge, experience but also precious friendship. The spirit of cooperation obtained from IGEM project will definitely lay a firm foundation for his future study and future career.

Zhiqing Wang
Zhiqing Wang, from SHSBNU, grade 11. For myself, I usually like painting and photography, but the most special thing is that I like to observe insects in my spare time. I was curious about how it moved and interested in living things. Interest is my motivation which push me to explore and discover theories, nature and the world. I also try my best to be strict with every experimental research with my passion of biology. I believe that my love of the subject and my strictness in study will support me to succeed in the future.

Pinzheng Wang
Pinzheng Wang from SHSBNU, grade 11, is full of passion in doing experiments, modeling. After joining IGEM competition, he gradually found that Biology Engineering is a field that waiting for human to discover. Therefore, he got interested in learning knowledge in Biology. As a team member, he does a lot in experiments and modeling. In the lab, he does all experiments with high quality and efficiency. With the enthusiasm of loving biology, he is in full power to fight for his own team to get a Gold medal.

Shuhan He
Shuhan He, from SHSBNU grade 11, who is a laboratory researcher in the team. He has been deeply interested in biology and chemistry since junior high school, and also keeps a good knowledge in these two disciplines. In the laboratory, he has good experimental literacy, and can skillfully complete different experimental operations. In peacetime, one of his strongest points is his self-study ability. In the past year, he has learned college chemistry courses and actively participated in various competitions to challenge himself. His dream is to become a pharmaceutical engineer who can work in a world-renowned pharmaceutical company for the benefit of mankind. This requires him to master excellent knowledge of biology and chemistry, and he is also working tirelessly in this regard.

Xinrui Li, from SHSBNU grade 11. She loves plants and animals, and they inspired her to research them. She is attracted to iGEM because she thinks it would lay the foundation for her future research. She likes writing, and she often writes some passage to record her life when she has free time. She also likes to use passage to describe the animals and plants she observes. She thinks that writing can express her feelings and let her have more experience of the world.

Siyuan Chen, from SHSBNU, grade 11. It was her first time to be a participant in the team. As a high school student, she plans to major in biology in her college year. Siyuan has been fascinated by biology from a young age and she has been fund into iGEM. I would like to thank you this opportunity to learn synthetic biology in depth, although biology is not my best subject, I will try my best to complete the my task.

Sicheng Jing, from SHSBNU, grade 11. As early as junior high school, biology aroused her great curiosity. Because of this special opportunity, she can learn more knowledge about synthetic biology. At the same time, it is also a good chance to learn how to cooperate and communicate with her teammates and also improve her ability. As a member of the group, she hopes to give others a hand in any place where others need help. This group is also the best group she ever met. As individuals pool their observations and ideas, she may have deeper insights into the academic problems that she is stuck in and inspire each other to come up with the best solution.

Jiawen Zou from SHSBNU, grade 11. Zou Jiawen is an out-standing student who really likes music. Also, she is fond of biology, especially bio-engineering. She is enthusiastic to enrich her knowledge in this field. As a team member, she participates in the lab work and human practice. She is willing to contribute to achieve our goal. This is the first time she attend iGEM, she wishes her team will drive forward the Gold medal.

Zhang, Qiongdan, from SHSBNU, G11. Though she is introvertive with strangers, she has a great passion for synthetic biology. As the first time she entered the entrance of the laboratory, she became attracted by those technical instruments. Fortunately, she has got the chance to be an iGEMer to express her interest with those like-minded friends. She enjoys in the world of art, especially to present her own views through her own style. In her spare time, she is keen on challenging herself, such as trying new sports and travelling around no matter far or close.

Chuan Ni (Nick)
As the Primary PI of team SHSBNU_China, He is a Biology teacher in 2nd HS attached to Beijing Normal University, international division. Graduated from Beijing Normal University, College of Life Science, as a PhD in Ecology, Nick have 7 years’ experiences of Biology teaching in SHSBNU. Dedicating himself in creating different levels of Biology courses to fulfill demands of different students, Nick started building Biology courses form the Standard Level Biology (SLB), then the online Moodle version of SLB, and then Accelerated Biology Course (ABC) for enthusiastic students. Following ABC is the Honored Biology Course (HBC) and Genetic Engineering Experiments (GEE) for students who’s willing to study further and deeper in Biology. These different levels of Biology Courses have prepared the students for international Biology contests like iGEM.

Biology teacher of team SHSBNU_China. Graduated from Beijing Normal University, faculty of Education, and had majored in biology at Wuhan University for four years, I'm a new teacher with one year's working experience in 2nd HS attached to Beijing Normal University international division. Different students have different dreams, which urges us teachers to build different levels Biology Courses to meet the diversified learning demands from different students. From the genetic engineering experiment course to the preparation of iGEM competition, working together with my students is a challenge, as well as a great opportunity for me to expand my biological teaching experience.

Xuze Shao
Xuze Shao, from SHSBNU, grade 12, captain of SHSBNU_2018. The experience of iGEM 2018 was unforgettable, so I decided to re-join team SHSBNU_China in the following year, to contribute the team from an advisor’s perspective. Though not a biology focused student, I still feel the passion of iGEM running through me when we were setting up this year’s team, so I decided to stay and help. I’ll try to squeeze up my schedule of applying and fit iGEM in this year as much as I can. This might really be my last glance of this competition, but I believe this will be meaningful.

School
The International Division of the 2nd High School attached to Beijing Normal University is founded in 2008. With a boarding campus, the international division is independent from the main campus of SHSBNU. It serves about eight-hundred students, including students from Project Global Access (PGA) and the Nacel International Exchange Program. PGA is a Sino-US Joint Program, introduced to the International Division in 2008, approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and registered with the Ministry of Education. There are about 360 Chinese students enrolled in the PGA program, from grade 10 to grade 12. Teachers in PGA are also well-qualified, with a total of 53 Chinese and foreign teachers. The faculty includes experienced educators from China, US, Britain, The Philippines, and South Africa, some of which are alumni of international institutions such as University of Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Michigan, UC Berkeley, UC Los Angeles, Messey University, etc.
