Safety
The heart of a lab lies in safety. Everyday, before the experiments commences, the safety is always checked. Safety in our lab is mainly engaged in two ways, lab safety and biosafety. Being a major laboratory in JiangSu province, all safety in lab is ensured. The flow of any potentially harmful substances, such as acidic substances, are strictly regulated. Nonetheless, all substanes that are present in the lab is treated with extra care to reinforce the safety of the researchers.
Lab Safety
We are fortunate enough to be able to use the laboratory in Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Being a major lab, the safety arrangements, from big to small, all strictly follow government regulations. Starting from big percautions, all machines and instruments are cleaned routinely, a fire extinguisher is present in every corner of the lab, and an air vent is present at every table.
Bio Safety
We ensure that all instructions and procedures are followed.We use the clean bench in the Cell room to complete most of our experiments. While entering the Cell room, we need to change into a different lab coat and go through an air shower. We have not only sterilized the medicine by using the ultraviolet transmission box, but we also carefully disinfect the instrument and medicine before each step to ensure sterility. Careful use of the pipette gun avoids contamination by other factors. For the treatment of heavy odors, we quickly placed them in the liquid waste barrel and tightened the lid to prevent the odors from spreading further and contaminating other experiments.
