On the morning of August 1 th, we arrived at Zhuhai Yisheng Biopharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. The guide of this company first introduced their products and production principles to us. Their main product is recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bfgf), which is difficult to extract from nature, low yield and expensive, so they transferred the gene that expressed recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bfgf) into engineering bacteria to produce the material in large quantities. In the end they made a huge profit, cutting their manufacturing costs by one percent. Through it, We have a clearer understanding of the great influence of genetic engineering technology in production and the broad prospects of our project.
Next, we visited the laboratory of the company, saw a lot of high-technology instruments, such as QPCR instrument, liquid chromatograph and so on, and learned a lot of safety knowledge in the laboratory, which provided a great help for us to carry on the experiment. Finally, we visited the production line of the company. Just over 200 square meters of space and a few sophisticated instruments can complete the annual production of more than a billion companies. Once again, we have a further understanding of the efficiency of genetic engineering technology and its major breakthroughs in production. This human practice gives us a further understanding of not only genetic engineering technology, but also the significance of our project to society, which is making great production of substances that are difficult to produce in large quantities possible.
