Shanghai-United iGEM team is divided into Laboratory group and Human Practice group. Each group focuses on different aspects of the projects while communicates with each other smoothly throughout the project.
Laboratory Team
All members on the lab team made substantial contribution during all experiments. Every single one of them is of great importance to this team. Below is just a list of Wiki section that they are responsible for.

Most of the experimental and design work was completed at the Zhang Jiang high tech park, Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences by all the members of Shanghai-United iGEM team. We give special thanks to Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Research for providing the experimental equipment and the laboratory for our project.
Human Practice Team
Human practice team is responsible for popularizing our experiments and the knowledge to the general public, arousing social awareness, conducting social investigations, as well as consulting experts for suggestions for our experiments. With all the team members working together, the human practice team made significant contributions to the whole project.
We offer sincere gratitude to the experts that join us in interviews, who provide us with their unique insights on cervical cancer and HPV and professional suggestions on our experiments. The team appreciate the generosity of people who donate money for our course in the fundraising event. We also give special thanks to the Ansai community and Xuhui central hospital, which provide us with opportunities to carry out our speech and raise social awareness. Lastly, we appreciate all the participants in our social investigation and speech. Their participation gave us new understanding of public opinions as well as the knowledge level of the general public.
Our social investigation was conducted at Nanjing Road in Shanghai, one of the world most popular shopping streets. Two speeches were held at Ansai community, a local community in Shanghai, and Xuhui Central Hospital, in which we also interviewed Dr Li as a renowned medical staff, while other interviews were conducted online with specialists around China.
Professors & Counselors:
We’re very grateful to all professors who have supported and helped us throughout the process. They guided us in choosing the direction of our project, gave plentiful helpful advice and assistance throughout the project.
Great thanks to Dr. Lu, who assisted us in designing and carrying out successful experiments. Every time we did not obtain ideal result for an experiment, he encourages us to figure out what mistakes potentially influenced the result. This significantly boost our efficiency and understanding of the experiments as a whole. With an expertise in Mass Spectra and protein analysis, he helped operate the mass spectrometer in the final stage.
Special tribute to Dr. Shiyuan Li, who assisted in the early stages of experimental design. Dr. Li also patiently helped us revise and polish our parts records and contents of wiki.
We also feel very grateful for Mr. Hening Yu, who has provided our Human Practice group with constant guidance in activity design and implementation.
