Collaborations

Lethbridge High School iGEM Team

For the eighth consecutive year, we collaborated with the Lethbridge High School iGEM team.Collegiate team members Sydnee Calhoun, Chris Isaac, Kristi Turton, Luke Saville, and Dia Koupantsis acted as advisors to the Lethbridge High School team and provided mentorship, wet lab instruction, and assistance in all areas of their project. In exchange, the Lethbridge High School team helped with the media aspects of our collegiate project.

uAlberta iGEM and Calgary iGEM Teams

We were a part of 2 meet-ups for iGEM teams in the province of Alberta, JulyGEM (July 27, 2019) and aGEM (Sept. 21-22, 2019), hosted by iGEM Calgary and uAlberta iGEM respectfully. These meet-ups allowed us to discuss our projects with other teams, as well as a panel of experts (judges in the case of aGEM) in order to in corporate their feedback into our presentations.

uOttawa iGEM Team

As part of a collaborative initiative on the part of the uOttawa iGEM Team, we contributed a series of protocols to an open drive accessible to the Canadian iGEM teams. Protocols we included were: methanol-chloroform protein precipitation, in vitro transcription of RNA spinach, trichloroacetic acid precipitation, Touch Down PCR protocol, and protein overexpression protocol.
