Public Engagement and Education

Education and Public Engagement were extremely important aspects of our project. In the process of brainstorming one of the key criteria was to work on a project with a significant usefulness and social acceptance.

Before entering the lab we asked our local communities – youth, students and mature members of our society if in their opinion, air pollution with heavy metals was an important issue to address and to find the solution to lower the HM concentration in a living space.

Our team decided to ask those questions in the form of survey, you can find our full report here.

As expected, collected data clearly implies that in Poland, people find the problem of heavy metal air pollution very threatening. Knowing that, and knowing that in our education system as a society, Poles are not provided with enough knowledge on the subject; we decided to create the series of short lectures addressing the problem of heavy metal air pollution.
