It was hard for us to find sponsors; cooperation between the business, institutions and academies is still in it’s infancy in our country, especially in comparisin to other western countries. Additionally, the iGEM contest is still not widely known, so as a result many companies didn’t want to risk their finances by investing in something uncertain, but after our introduction some of the potential sponsors expressed their interest in future collaboration. Luckily, recently ago we won a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in their contest ‘Najlepsi z najlepszych 4.0’ (‘Best of the best 4.0’).

All in all, we have shown that we have an enterprising spirit and by openly speaking with so many companies we definitely made it easier for the future Polish iGEM teams to form a collaborations with businesses.
