BioComp is a research focus of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate that has existed since 2014. In BioComp, members of the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as well as members of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics work together in highly networked, interdisciplinary projects. Since 2017, the focus of biological research has been on the analysis of dynamic membrane processes in biological systems.
