HUMAN PRACTICE
MEETUP WITH TEAM UPPSALA
This year, our team members went to Uppsala University for a synthetic biology summer school and, fortunately, we contacted members of Team Uppsala and held a little meet up together.

In the Uppsala University’s Biomedical center, we were warmly welcomed by the team member of Uppsala. We had a briefly self-introduction of each other and presented our 2019 project respectively. After the presentation, hearing that this was our first attempt to conduct yeast molecular cloning, Uppsala team generously shared their experience in basic yeast experiment techniques. We also shared some experience in molecular cloning in bacteria. Besides, they pointed out that the failure we had met in western blot of Cns1, Cns2 and Cns3 maybe because of S.cerevisiae’s hyper glycosidation in protein expression. They also suggested us to simplify the language used in our presentation to make it easier to be understood.

In the end, we had a small talk about our team organization and daily routine in the iGEM lab work.

We had such good time with Team members of Uppsala. Their optimistic attitude and the ideas of project design inspired us a lot. SCU-China is always glad to make friends and support each other.
