Navarra_BG’s team is formed through the PlanetaSTEM Educational Program, which is coordinated from the Planetarium of Pamplona. PlanetaSTEM, through different activities, wants to promote science and technology to all public between 12 and 16 years old.

As we want all of them have an opportunity to live the iGEM experience, 8 members are selected: 4 girls and 4 boys, and each year the team members are changed so, this year, new boys and girls have been in charge of continuing with the legacy left by the members of last year.

In addition, it should be noted that we are from different schools of different courses and that we did not know each other before starting the project.

Our first contact was in the Planetarium of Pamplona, in May. Here our meetings started to get to know each other and everything about iGEM. Our next stage was in the CSIC laboratory at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology. In July and August we worked all the practical part of our project in the laboratory.

Since September until the Giant Jamboree we are finalizing details of our project in the Planetarium and also, in the laboratory.

We are a multidisciplinary team that during the project we have all done everything. However, we had assigned coordination roles:

  • Arantza Arrizurieta: Photography and translation
  • Aitor Perez: Graphic Design
  • David Ferrer: Mars
  • Maite Losarcos: Laboratory and poster
  • Amaia Garcia: Economy
  • Saioa Ganuza: Collaborations, Human Practices and Public Engagement
  • Julen Casulleras: Blog
  • Julen Herrero: Wiki
