About Us
Atabek Bektash
is our team leader and the most influential person in our lab. Everyone listens to him and asks for his advice. Sometimes he has crazy ideas related to the project, and these ideas solve many problems we face.
Alyamdar Askerov
is a radio station of our lab, who selects energizing music and creates funny jokes (at least he believes in it). He is also guru in gel electrophoresis, as he is ready to prepare gels of all sizes and resolutions.
Aidana Toleshova
is the Iron Lady of our team. She is strong and can deal with any problems related to Human practices issues. We do not know how she does it, but she is able to contact with any existing person you want. Aidana is perfect in project promotion and management.
Tomiris Mulikova
is simply the smartest member of our team. She is the most hard-working and dedicated member of our team.
Sabina Isabek
is the co-author of our “supreme” gene design and master of PCR reactions. She is very hard-working and can stay in the lab for days and nights. Her main hobby is to argue with Atabek about who has a higher GPA.
Damir Moldabay
We do not believe that he is a human, because he is involved in every aspect of the project. He participates in dry and wet lab, and he is one of the HP team members. Apart from this, he loves to take video of lab process, and that is why everyone “adores” him for capturing their “adorable” faces.
Adiya Tauassarova
is a sweet child everyone cares about. She is very funny and can help you with any procedure. She has a great talent of sleeping right in the lab in interesting poses.
Aruzhan Otegenova
is a cute and kind member of our team, but she is crazy about data in the Lab Notebook. If you forgot to take a photo of the gel, or protocol for PCR, or you noticed that she changed the hair colour, you better run, seriously.
Aliya Kaimoldiyeva
is the Decibel Woman of our lab. You can hear her strong and beautiful voice being many kilometers away. Her favourite job in the lab is making Mira Prep procedure, so if you need it, just ask her.
Shamil Mureyev
is the Decibel Man of our lab. Ironically, he usually works with Aliya and it is our lovely Dynamic Duo. Shamil is crazy in doing things in a perfect manner, and that is why he takes so long to finish.
Aigerim Mashyrap
is a cute and hard-working member of the wet lab team, but she is so unlucky to be the one living outside the campus during our beloved all-nighters in the lab.
Dariya Issagulova
is the queen of sarcasm of our team. She also likes to ship other members of the team with each other. Despite this, she knows every aspect of liquid PCR which makes her a valuable member of the team
Aida Batyrbayeva
is strange because she is doing a Physics major and works for an iGEM team simultaneously. We all love her because she always has some food with her. Aida is perfect in preparing different solutions and keeping the lab clean.
Nurdaulet Mukhtarov
is kinda mixture of engineering skills and gel preparation. He is very calm and trying to annoy him is as hard as making an ideal PCR amplification with Hyd3. He also knows how to fix things in the lab from the engineering perspective.
Meruyert Tlemissova
is our computer scientist and the Wiki designer that we prayed for from previous years. She designed our Wiki and we can’t help but play with our homepage.
Akerke Sybankulova
If you saw the beautiful photos and funny videos on our Instagram page, you can be sure they are the creations of her. Thanks to her our Social Network is alive. She is also an active member of Human Practices team, who has made a valuable contribution to the Climate Launchpad Competition.
Zarina Zhunissova
is the Event Organization guru. She can perfectly arrange all meetings and prepare the event in the creative way. Zarina is also one of the Climate Launchpad team members, and without her we definitely could not have won the first place at the National Final.
Assylay Yegemberdiyeva
is our Human Integrated Practices hero who won the special prize from “Astana Innovations”, and thanks to her we can have more chances to get opinions from experts in our country.
