Collaboration

Win-win cooperation~
BUCT-CHINA
We held a web conference with the iGEM team from BUCT(Beijing University of chemical technology),exchanged ideas about the project, and provided some constructive suggestions for the their project:
1. Our suggestions for BUCT: we suggest that BUCT iGEM can further improve the production of oxidase by optimizing the promoter of oxidase for speeding up the degradation of PE.We think that they can select promoters that can express more protein basing on their gene function and protein expression data. After the first screening of these promoters, they can carry out saturation mutation in - 35 to - 10 regions of the promoter region, construct mutation library and take high-throughput screening to get positive mutation
2. BUCT's suggestions to us:they put forward their opinions on the cutting enzyme we selected. They think that although enteropeptidase has high specificity,TEVP enzymes are better to be used compared with enteropeptidase. because enteropeptidase’s cost is high and it's efficiency is low.

NWU-CHINA
In this year's cooperation, OUC-CHINA provided us with some tri-fold pages about their project phenylketonuria. The tri-fold page introduces the idea of phenylketonuria in a concise language that makes the population easier to read and understand. We brought a 30% discount to the nearby hospital to communicate with the community, and hope to let people come to know the phenylketonuria and the status quo. First, we introduce them in vivid language to bring people to understand the disease. After that, we introduced the NWU-CHINA project to people through popular language.
These tri-fold pages have greatly helped us introduce phenylketonuria to the public. At the same time, we mailed our 30% page to OUC-CHINA, and hope that OUC-CHINA can help us carry out the same publicity.

CCiC
From August 19th to August 23rd, the 6th CCiC (China iGEMer Community Conference) was held at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Our team is honored to attend this meeting. More than 70 iGEM teams in China participated in the conference, and we had a heated discussion on synthetic biology. During the meeting, we demonstrated our project, from design to preliminary results. The judges and other teams made some constructive suggestions, and we also got some cooperation opportunities. We are very happy to be friends with some iGEMer, and we will still keep in touch after the meeting, which will be very helpful for our follow-up collaboration.
