Our Team

Muhammad Shaheer Niazi: Our team leader, Shaheer, was one of the founders of the first ever high school team from Pakistan and this year was the founder of our project Project Saffora and guided us in wet lab, registration process and the outreach Multan trip.

Muhammad Marsad Siddique: Marsad was also the founder of the previous year’s LACAS iGEM team. This year he mainly led our entire human practices, dealing with the SynBio Summer School held at LACAS and presentations at other schools (education and public engagement). He also dealt with the Boston trip agenda.

Zainab Mudassar: Zainab is the incharge of our wet lab. She mostly did all the practical lab work, organized and led a lab tour for the students attending the SynBio summer school and briefed them about different equipment and procedures. She also compiled all the work done on all frontiers (HP, outreach, collaboration) and helped in wiki freeze

Abdul Rehman Baig: Baig is the incharge of our wiki. He compiled all the work done in all departments and transferred it to the wiki via long, cumbersome coding. He worked throughout the wiki freeze, gathering pictures for the galleries, uploading videos, making tables and formatting his way through the IGEM servers.

Third Parties

All wet lab work was carried out by team members at the Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) in Punjab University which was made accessible to us thanks to Dr.Athar Osama of the Pakistan Innovations foundation (PIF) and the Director of CEMB. We are also thankful to our school (Lahore College for Arts and Sciences) for paying off 4500$ of the registration fee and supporting our endeavor in registering the only High school team of Pakistan.

Special thanks to our mentor from CMUQ, Mr. Saad Rasool, in guiding us throughout the process and mentoring us on how to achieve our agenda and the IGEM Ambassador for Asia, Mr. Hassnain Qasim Bokhari for explaining the criteria and giving a presentation about iGEM at our synbio summer school.
