  Ph.D. in Bio-system Engineering, Zhejiang University.She has been engaged in the rapid diagnosis of food safety based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS). She is good at synthesis and functional development of micro- or nano- materials, preparation of surface-enhanced Raman scattering active substrates.Dr. Ruyi Shi is the secondary PI of our team, who is responsible for the guidance of scientific research methods and the work of dry team.

Since I have been doing science researches since 9th grade, I thought this iGEM thing would be a piece of cake, however, I'm totally wrong. Now I only pray for my team to survive the submission week.

  I am Martin Zhang, the wet team captain of ASTWS-China from Hangzhou. A current grade 10 student from Experimental High attached to BNU in Beijing. I am also a handsome guy who is eager to explore science and truths in the field of complicated genetic modification. In my daily life, I’m addicted to sing and write my own folk songs; playing basketball under the burning sun enjoying every slam dunk that I make.

  Hola! This is Christine Wang! I'm a rising sophomore of a high school in the US, and I am also the captain of 2019 ASTWS-China's dry team. If we can meet someday, you will find out that I'm a fun and talkative person.Speaking of hobbies, there are too much. I like watching movies, playing tennis, skiing, etc（But... I am literally not talented at any of them). In conclusion!! The biggest wish of my life is to sleep 9 hours fulllll a day!!

  Hihi! I am Jennifer, a rising sophomore at Lake Forest Academy. I am definitely way more into journalism and literature than in math and science in school. My writing is the way I earned my GPA, even for science curriculums. But Biology has always been an exception. Ever since I completed my first frog dissection in 8th grade, Biology has always been unforgettable. It is different from other math and science curriculums. Therefore I decided to give it a try and joined ASTWS-China this summer, and solve worldwide pollution problem with my team!

  I am a member from 2019 ASTWS-China called Jingyi Lin. I am a student in the First High School of Changsha, Hunan. As a psychology-lover who cannot live without dancing and idols, I dream to get a doctorate in psychology and become an advanced psychiatrist in the future. I am an outgoing and warm-hearted person in daily life, and I am curious about everything around me. As for me, compared with learning through text books, I found it more interesting doing labs and thus realizing the attraction in science.

  My name is Sandra Che and and I’m a 11th grade student. If I have free time, I’ll stay at my room with Carbonated drinks. Comparing to Coke, I prefer Sprite. I really like Type-Moon, especially those characters who were originally from Knights of the Round Table. Animated shows that have Fantasy and Action attract me the most, such as Full metal Alchemist and K. Besides that, I love New Age and Rock & Roll.

  Wassup, my name is David, Luo and I am a new senior from a high school in the US, who is now suffering from college application and a bunch of other stuffs. In my daily life, I am a person who always stay at home watching anime and do drawings. I am pretty inactive. If no one ask me to go out, home is the only place I’m staying, because I advocate to be an energy-conservative person. Pretty persistent with food, however I play basketball and work out sometimes only to lose weight and eat more. I feel like I always think a lot and I am pretty stubborn with academic problems, because I always try my best to understand every single detail. This is my second time attending IGEM, and I want to try my best to work with the lab.

  Hi there, I am Vanessa, a 16-year-old sophomore. I am a fervent animal lover who feed two guinea pigs at my house. I basically have interest in almost every subjects I learned, including calculus, statistics, economics, physics and etc. My love of bio started when I was a little kid, who always tried to know more about animals and the surroundings animals lived in. So, here I am, joining IGEM with ASTWS-China team and working with other team members to solve the environmental problem and improve the environmental condition.

  Ph.D. major in Veterinary medcine, College of Zhejiang University She has been engaged in the relevant research of traditional Chinese herbal medicine, including the immunomodulators for veterinary vaccine and mucosal vaccine immune adjuvant, development of anti-tumor vaccine, and research on the mechanism of tumor chemical prevention. As an advisor of our team, she has provided a lot of help in our project design and brainstorming.
