The idea of finding a cure for potato soft rot disease initially came from our advisor Mr. Zhe Leng, who told us about the concerning issue of the usage of agricultural chemical pesticide, and the amount of economical loss this disease causes annually. This idea was then being further improved by the instructor and PD team members. Instructor Lin suggested using hydrolase and antimicrobial peptides as parts of gene coils. Harry Fang, Annie Xian and Rouxuan Yu did further research on this topic. Through the discussions with our teammates, we decided the final design of our project.

Through out the entire 11 months of the iGEM competition preparation process, we faced many obstacles as well as difficulties that we wouldn’t have been able to over come if it wasn’t with the help of the following people, therefore we would like to acknowledge them with their kind assistances as well as dedication of time to this project.
Our team is very grateful for him to dedicate his precious time to us as well as giving us constructive opinions during the tour of the Potato center Asia-Pacific headquarter, and most importantly we would also like to thank him for not only having us at the center, but also providing us with useful data that reinforces our project goals.
During the interview Mr. Wang generously provided us knowledges about potato’s nutrition contents as well as how they benefit human beings, which, we later constructed our cookbook used on the information that we extracted from the interview. We would like to thank thank him for his time and patience with our questions.
Our advisor Mr. Leng supported us fully through out the preparation process, he personally gave us many helps in areas such as wiki design, human practice ideas as well as the generous dedication of his efforts from the very beginning.
Mr. Hua provided us with critical instructions on our mathematical modeling as well as crucial trainings on this specific area.
Lastly, iBowu-China would like to greatly express our gratitude towards Snapgene, for their generosity of providing us with 13 Snapgene programs for free.
