Alice is an undergrad student at Biological Sciences, currently studying the influence of RNA desregulation with predisposition of neural progenitors cells in acquiring neoplasm characteristics in Translational Genomics Laboratory.

Lab and Designer

Dora, a graphic designer, and currently an undergraduate student in Biological Science. She study a bacteria that infects sugar cane in Genomics and Transposable Elements Lab.

Wiki and Human Practices

Pedro is an undergrad at Biological Sciences by University of São Paulo. Currently studies how environmental stresses affects molecular responses in bacterias, more specifically in Caulobacter Crescentus.

Giulia Maria Ramella

Human Practices and Funding

Giulia is an undergrad at Biological Sciences, she had studied molecular cloning in Albert Einstein Hospital before starting in iGEM team. Nowadays, she teaches biology for high school, working mainly with science/biotechnology projects at science fairs.

Marco is a PhD candidate graduated in Biomedical Sciences by University of São Paulo. Currently studies how DNA-damage response may affect the emergence of antibiotic resistance in prokaryotes.

Jung Hun Park

Wet and Dry Lab

Jung has graduated in Biomedical Sciences and is currently pursuing his Master degree in Microbiology at the University of Sao Paulo. He is developing his thesis in the Laboratory of Bioproducts, where he is mostly focused on the fields of molecular biology and bacterial genetics.

Raphael is a PhD candidate graduated in Biological Sciences by University of São Paulo. Currently studies the field of plant physiology, with special interest in the action of nitric oxide metabolism in the development of fleshy fruits. Uses molecular, biochemical and bioinformatics approaches.

Is an undergrad at Biomedical Sciences and attended iGEM last year. Was director of projects at ICB Junior Company and is currently a consultant at IQVIA.

Robledo Ferreira

Wet lab

Robledo, an undergrad at Biological Sciences, currently involved with the study of the use of genes involved in cell cycle control as targets for gene therapy of human tumors and other cell cycle pathologies.

Henrique Retti de Andrade

Lab and Modelling

Graduating from the Biological Sciences. I have great interest especially in the areas of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Ecology and Biomathematics. My experience concerns both laboratory practice in the fields of molecular and cellular biology with oncology, bioinformatics, mathematical modeling and synthetic biology, as well as participation in non-formal education spaces and congress organization. Is currently part of Professor Rodrigo Cogni's Laboratory of Evolutionary Ecology, assisting in the study of the interaction between the intracellular parasite Wolbachia and Drosophila, the USP-Brazil iGEM competition team and the Organizing Committee of the Biological Thematic Week.

Gisele Monteiro

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas, PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the University of São Paulo. Currently a Professor of Department of Biochemical-Pharmaceutical Technology, University of São Paulo. Working with the following subjects:molecular biology with emphasis on the study of Molecular and Biological Functions of Genes, heterologous protein production in microorganisms in bacteria and yeast and protein engineering as biopharmaceuticals.

Marilis do Valle Marques

Secondary PI

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral internship in Molecular Biology at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She is currently a Professor in Department of Microbiology, University of São Paulo. Working with the following subjects: genomics, transcriptomics, gene regulation and stress response.

Caetano Padial Sabino

Team Advisor

Researcher, inventor and entrepreneur, Caetano works since 2010 to help bring Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy (APDT) into mainstream applications. Currently, he is finishing his PhD thesis in Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of Sao Paulo and also establishing BioLambda, a start-up company developing novel research, clinical and industrial equipments for APDT. His research interests are on Biophotonics and Biomedical Engineering, working mainly on tissue-optics, photobiomodulation and photodynamic therapy.

Caio is an undergrad student at Biological Sciences, currently studying molecular biology of microorganisms, using the pathogenic bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a model.
