Composite Parts
We have added three new composite parts to the iGEM registry.
Our parts are comprised of both existing basic parts from the parts registry and our new basic parts.
The composite parts were designed for our project and used in the lab to prove our concept.

Our Best New Composite Part
Our best new composite part is BBa_K2934008, our “Honey Circuit”. This part is based on simple, yet fascinating, negative feedback machinery and it is mainly comprised of our new basic parts.
This part was designed to produce Glucose Oxidase (GOx) in a regulated manner – GOx catalyzes the oxidation of glucose and releases hydrogen peroxide as a byproduct. As the hydrogen peroxide concentration rises, this results in the production of LacI repressor which leads to the suppression of the GOx transcription. Thus, the oxidation of glucose in the medium is highly regulated.
