Team Members
We, six high school students from Shanghai, form 71Percent. We are currently devoted to protecting marine life, especially the sharks. We hope our research can save sharks from being killed for squalene every year.

Primary PI
Chinese teacher and head teacher at the high school division of Shanghai East Foreign Language School, graduated from the Chinese Department of ECNU. First-level secondary school teacher, with 18 years of teaching experience and 14 years of managing experience.
LUNING ZHANG
Secondary PI
Doctoral supervisor, teaching in the Department of Chemistry, Tongji University, with doctoral degree from the University of California, Berkeley, participated in the research projects of NASA and the U.S. air force office of basic science as a Stanford research institute postdoctoral fellow, used to be the innovation researcher of Siemens research institute in China, responsible for the research and development of innovative technologies in the application field.

Instructor
Director of teaching, expert in STEM and PBL, with profound experiences in genetic engineering, toxicology, pathology and other theories and technologies，with master in medicine from Xiangya Hospital, Central South University.
MAGGIE WANG
Advisor
Passionate educator, expert in STEM and PBL, with profound experiences in speech skill, economy and management, with master degree from Shanghai University in finance and economics. Responsible for ensuring financial source and project facilitator.

Advisor
Passionate educator, expert in STEM and PBL, with profound experiences in chemical and electronic industry, with master degree from the University of Munich Germany. Responsible for ensuring financial source and early team building.

I always have some weird ideas and I am devoted to realizing them. In my spare time, I like reading novels and popular science articles. Learning some scientific facts is such a delight. Music and movies are also necessities in my life.

Why iGEM
Releasing the pressure on nature is always a major theme of the human development. Now as high school students, we can also have the opportunity to use our knowledge and effort to give freedom back to sharks. I think it meaningful, and I believe I will enjoy myself during the iGEM preparation.
