Wet Lab Team Lead

Hi, my name is Michael Jurjevich and I am the Wet Lab Team Lead for the 2019 Northern_BC iGEM team and this is my second year involved in our iGEM team. I am currently going into my 4th year of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Northern British Columbia and after my degree I am hoping to continue in science in order to help others and the planet. A fun fact about myself is that I enjoy playing the French horn and piano, and listening to music.

Human Practices Team Lead

My name is Paige and I’m in my fourth year of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am the human practices team lead and this is my second year in iGEM. I’m really excited about our project this year and what our team has been able to achieve. In my spare time I love to go camping and hiking, making me feel very lucky to live in BC.

Hi, my name is Sonia and I will be completing my fourth year of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program. This is my second year as a member of Northern BC’s wet lab team and I am grateful to be a part of such a diverse team. I am passionate about experiencing new cuisines, right now I’m on the hunt for the best calamari in town!
Sonia Kandola
Finance Co-Director

My name is Lila, and I am a third-year economics student at UNBC. This is my first year being a co-director of Northern BC iGEM’s first Finance and Social Media team. I enjoy anything I do when it involves supporting and helping others, and our project is nothing short of that. While I am an economics student, you can always find me busy exploring all sorts of other areas of study, including computer science, business, law, political science, and even a bit of synthetic biology!
Lila Mansour
Finance Co-Director

I am entering my third year of studies, and currently double-majoring in Finance and Economics. I am excited to represent one-half of this year’s Northern BC iGem Finance and Social Media team. When not engaged in my studies, I can typically be found quietly reading or painting, albeit with a number of breaks to loudly practice piano.
Adrian Lamb
Wiki Design Lead

My name is Shamitha and this is my first year on the Northern BC iGEM team. I’m entering my second year as a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology student and I am new to the world of synthetic biology; as such, I’m especially enthusiastic about our project this year and how it tackles such a relevant issue in our community. When I’m not working with the team this summer, I plan to watch as many classic movies as I can; my favourite (so far) is 12 Angry Men!
