Public engagement is an important part of bringing our plans to society, and our team was sparing no effort to conveying our ideas to the public. In addition to letting the general public know more about us, we also use interesting methods to promote knowledge about synthetic biology. We divide public participation into the following:

√ Church
August 16 ,2019 Our team went to the church to teach children some basic knowledge of biology and share our project with them. Also, we designed a small experiment for them to stimulated their interest in science. During the teaching, they thought up some funny idea which we had never came up with, that inspired us a lot. We really had a great time with these kids.

√ Farmer interview
August 25, 2019 We went to Tainan Madou to conduct a farmer's visit and had a dialogue with the farmers in the area. In their dialogue, we learned that climate change has a great impact on crops and feels their helplessness in watching the world. Water is an indispensable element for crops, so our plans have a lot to do with them. We share our ideas with them and they have a positive attitude towards our plans. Thanks to these farmers' feedback and suggestions.

√ Set up a stall
June 30, 2019 Our team took advantage of free time, walking out of the lab to have an interaction with the public. Through this opportunity of setting up a stall, we shared our idea to the public and knew more about people’s views on synthetic biology. Much to our surprise, most people have little knowledge of it. therefore, we realized that we still have a long way to popularize synthetic biology and even accept it.

September 2, 2019 We created our radio show on Podcast. Podcast is a great platform for us to advertise our ideas to more people, and to let the public quickly understand synthetic biology.
We designed a card game that combines synthetic biology with entertainment and lets people know about synthetic biology in a fun way.

◆2019 Taiwan iGEM Conference August 5 ,2019 - August 6 ,2019 We held the 2019 Taiwan iGEM Conference and invited teams around Taiwan to learn much knowledge from other teams. Also, teams shared their brilliant projects and gained feedback from others. These two days are a great chance for teams to build-up collaborations and make friends with all the iGEMers.
◆IGEM CSMU Taiwan May 4, 2019 We had a wonderful dinner with CSMU iGEM team. Aside from exchanging our opinions of how to work efficiently as a team, we shared ideas of our projects and experiments. In the lively discussion, we made a lot of like-minded friends!
◆NSU iGEM 2019 May 23, 2019 We had a video conference with the NSU iGEM 2019, understand and share each other's plans, and talk about projects that work together.
