Improving our presentation skills with iGEM NavarraBG
In the form of an “elevator pitch” we exchanged our projects with the high school team of Navarra, Spain. For this, Saioa from Navarra actually visited us in person in our laboratory in Munich! It was an interesting opportunity to pitch our projects in a different format and exchange feedback on the pitch, as well as the project itself. To get to know each other better, we sent introduction videos to one another. We were very happy to make some friends to look forward to seeing in Boston again.
Communicating Science through art with iGEM BOKU Vienna
The iGEM Team of Vienna initiated the “Six Pics Challenge” in which all participating teams were challenged to explain their project in a short comic in an easily understandable manner. With the collected comics, a booklet including the projects of all participating iGEM teams was edited with the aim to present topics of synthetic biology in an accessible way via showing examples of iGEM projects. This challenge was a fun way to get creative and collaborate with other teams! The whole booklet can be viewed here.
Instagram Challenge with iGEM Stony Brook
We participated in the Instagram Challenge started by the iGEM Stony Brook team as an interactive way to spread knowledge about synthetic biology and our project on social media. It was a great challenge to break the ice between iGEM teams and get connected!
Phage buffer for Team Graz
Like our team last year, iGEM Graz are working with phages. We met iGEM Graz at our Alpine Meetup and were happy to provide them with the optimised phage buffer from iGEM Munich 2018. At our Meetup, we also put them in touch with iGEM 2018 from whom they received know-how on solving the problems they encountered with phages.
Plasmids for iGEM Bielefeld
The iGEM Bielefeld Team asked us to send them plasmids for Cas13 which iGEM Munich 2017 designed. We were happy to provide them with the plasmids and wished them best of luck for their project!
