The Week of Biology is a special week (30th September till 6th of October 2019) in the Netherlands which consists of various events that aim at sharing knowledge about biology with all Dutch people. It is organized by the Netherlands Institute of Biology (NIBI) in order to emphasize the importance of the biological research and to introduce all the new biological findings with the public (NIBI, 2019). This year, team MSP-Maastricht participated in this special week. The team prepared a lecture and a workshop for around twenty high-school students. The topics that were talked about by the team included: synthetic biology, genetics and molecular tools. The lecture and the workshop were presented in an easy to understand way as most of targeted audience was not familiar with biological concepts. MSP-Maastricht team aimed to share the knowledge about the synthetic biology but also to inspire young high-school students to pursue careers in the biological sciences.
