About Our Team

We are a group of students from Hong Kong Joint-Secondary School iGEM team (HKJSS). Our team is formed by Po Leung Kuk Celine Ho Yam Tong College, Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School, Pentecostal School, United Christian College (Kowloon East) and St. Teresa Secondary School. 39 students and 6 teachers has participated in this joint high school team. With the supporting by our schools and the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, 30 of us will be attending the 2019 jamboree in Boston.

United Christian College (Kowloon East)

United Christian College (Kowloon East) is a private Christian secondary school which was founded by Dr. To in 2003. The school provides a different sky of learning with a broad and challenging curriculum. Our priority is to offer an all-rounded and quality education, emphasising on academic excellence, broadening international perspective, fostering positive and lasting godly values in the lives of our students.

Po Leung Kuk Celine Ho Yam Tong College

Established in 2001, it was the thirteenth secondary school to open in Po Leung Kuk. We adhere to the mission and vision of Po Leung Kuk, and attach great importance to students’ balanced learning including moral, intellectual, physical, communal and aesthetic education, and nurture students to develop nobleness and a correct outlook of life. The mission is to enhance students’ interest in learning and unearth their potential by means of inspiration. Our school’s motto is love, respect, diligence and integrity; it is hoped that students can learn to respect and strive for excellence.

Pentecostal School

Pentecostal School was established in 1973 by Kowloon Pentecostal Church Ltd. Pentecostal school emphasizes to enhance career planning and multiple pathways and nurture students' self-directed abilities. The school implemented 'Career and Life Planning', different life planning activities both outside and inside classes are organized to enable students to gain a better understanding of the students themselves.

Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School

Dr. Tin Ka Ping founded the school in 1987. The School Motto is lucidly set out, and manifests consistently in the School's policies and ethos. One Sport One Art for One Student" Program encourages students to broaden their horizons by pursuing their interests in non-academic areas. The School environment is caring and supportive, fostering a close relationship among teachers and students.

St. Teresa Secondary School

Delan Secondary School is a government-subsidized Girls' High School, directly managed under the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. Founded in 1978, it was formed by a group of enthusiastic staff which serves students with the purpose of spreading the gospel and nurturing talent. All staffs and students of the school adhere to Virgin Mary Deland's image: trusting in the Lord, simple and plain, distinguishing clearly between right and wrong, never discouraged, and striving to practice the school motto "Careful Reflection and Clear Discrimination".
