Bronze Requirments

  1. Registration and Jamboree Attendance
    Please see the Juding Form.
  2. Competition Deliverables
Please visit our presentation and poster during the Jamboree! :)
  3. Attributions
Our heartfelt thanks for all the support from the Amazing People!
  4. Project Inspiration and Description
Here is where all the ideas came from!
  5. Characterization
"If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants." - Issac Newton. We appreciate the previous team's work and hope we can also contribute to their work. We used iGEM 2016 Oxford's part (BBa K1980002) in our project to see if the MyMT can also used for copper pollutant removal in liquid medium.

Silver Requirments

  1. Validated Part/Validated Contribution
We designed and expressed the Corynebacterium glutamicum metallothionein protein (CgMT) (BBa K3076100) in E. coli. And our Experimental Resultsshowed that CgMT increased the copper removal ability of the E. coli as we expected.
  2. Human Practice
Please visit our Human Practice page to see why we care and why we work on this metal problem. With our product, we believe our work will draw the attention of the public and provide an alternative solution to the current pollutant treatment method!

Gold Requirments

  1. Integrated Human Practices
We review and improve our project and product continuously. The feedback from all the stakeholders is indispensable for us. By integrating their opinions, we constructed a Filtration Device (B-CAD) from the un-workable prototype and demonstrated it is practical and workable in real-life applications.
Please visit our Human Practice page to know each step in our project.
  2. Model Your Project
A mathematical model was created to predict the effect of our B-CAD. Please visit our Modelingto know more.
  3. Demonstration of Your Work
We demonstrated our B-CAD works with real aquaponic water. Meanwhile, we considered the safety issues.
