Safety
Overview
GreatBay_SCIE has fully recognized the importance of safety in the lab. In order to prevent dangers and risks caused by improper personal operations of lab facilities, we have taken necessary precautions to minimize the harm. All of our members followed the rules below. Training
Safety is the first thing we take into consideration in our wet lab. Before project design, every team member in GreatBay_SCIE had to complete a series of training class in Bluepha Lab for at least 2 weeks. The training contains general lab safety rules(including the aspects of eating and drinking, clothing, basic operations of devices and machines). Two teachers in Bluepha, Xuanyu Zhao and Boxing Wang, were in charge of our training session, providing experienced guiding suggestions. In addition, Xuanyu Zhao is the supervisor for our whole experiment process, ensuring that wet lab members are following the rules strictly.
Execution
In order to assure that the general lab safety rules are being executed closely, a lab management group chat was set up. If it is observed that someone has done wrong operations of the machines in the last day, a photo would be taken and be posted onto the chat group, and a fine range 10 - 50 would be charged as a punishment.

Before leaving the lab, waste gloves should be thrown away and members are asked to wash their hands. |
