Project Inspiration and Description

This year we want to show the relationship between individuals in a group through bacteria.

The culture medium containing live bacteria is regarded as a large group, and each of them is regarded as an individual. There is a relationship between every two individuals, and this bilateral relationship is the basis of a more complex relationship between individuals. This year, we are also going to study this simple relationship that only contains two individuals.

We consulted sociological books and literature and finally determined the criteria we would adopt. We will divide the relationship into four categories by its effect on two individuals.

Although the relationship is mutual, we still call the two individuals constituting the relationship "actors" and "recipients", that is, we distinguish the active and passive status of the relationship. In other words, we define relationships from the perspective of one of two individuals. It has nothing to do with the specific actions and actions in the relationship. For example, in a mutually beneficial relationship, two individuals help each other, so each of them is active and passive. From the perspective of one side, this relationship has a positive effect on both the "actor" and the "recipient". In this way, the naming of "actor" and "recipient" seems inappropriate, and should be called "I" and "He", so as to show the perspective. But we still choose the former way, because in some relationships, the active and passive manifestations are very strong.

So we divide the relationship into four categories, Our E. coli will be transformed into engineered bacteria that can achieve the functions. These bacteria will affect each other.
