Title

Abstract

Fatty acids are primordial constituents of cells. Omega fatty acids, some of which are synthesized by plants, have useful properties in pharmaceutical, agrifood and industrial domains.
However, when production is carried out on a large scale, which requires land use, many environmental problems can arise. Our team is interested in rare fatty acids, especially in Conjugated Linolenic Acids (ClnA). These have three conjugated bonds and therefore various medical applications. We plan on developing a launch pad for their bioproduction in the long-term, in order to limit environmental and economic problems. Finally, we will use Yarrowia lipolityca for the production because it has proven to be effective for fatty acid production thanks to its lipidic metabolism.
