Judging Form
Medal Requirement Criteria Fulfilment
Bronze Registration Complete registration and attend the Giant Jamboree We successfully registered for iGEM and are looking forward to attending the Boston jamboree!
Competition Deliverables Poster, Judging Form, Wiki and Presentation We have created a poster and presentation to exhibit at the Giant Jamboree, and our judging form can be found here.
Attributions Describe work completed by the team and others A page describing project attributions can be found here.
Characterization Complete part detection We successfully participated in the testing research and found the page recording our work here
Silver Validated Part Add a successfully characterised new part to the BioBrick registry We have uploaded BBa_K2999004, BBa_K2999009 BBa_K2999010 etc. More information on the design and characterisation of this part can be found here.
Collaborations Describe work completed by the team and others In the summer, we work with iGEM teams both inside and outside the lab, and we can find a summary of our collaboration here.
Human Practices Consider the wider implications of the project In the whole project, we have taken some measures to better understand the project background and design application, security and measures. In addition to the research discussions with medical experts and patients, we also held some activities and investigated the issues related to biofilm and the acceptance of biotherapy. Read more about our work here.
Gold Modelling Construct a meaningful model of the system As shown here , our models cover a wide range of biological and physical processes (transcription, translation, signal transduction, growth, diffusion, etc.) from the molecular level (genes, RNA, proteins and metabolites) to the cellular and population levels, different intracellular and extracellular compartments. By calculation, we can show the time needed to remove the biofilm by two ways of pyrolysis.
Part Improvement Create and characterise a BioBrick part with a functional improvement on an existing BioBrick part. This year, we improved Plac + LacZ + malS which can produce starch hydrolase that can degrade starch. We used T7 promoter to replace lac promoter sequence on the protoplast, hoping to enhance the expression of starch hydrolase.
More information can be found here.
Integrated Human Practices Document how the project was guided by Human Practices Various public surveys, meetings with relevant personnel, help guide further research and shape our design. We design and apply dressings to enhance the safety of our probiotics. More information can be found here.
Demonstration The designed system is effective We've done a series of experiments to make sure that The two enzymes can be released to the outside of cells and destroy the biofilm effectively.
