Early in the summer we were able to host a small meet up with UT Austin to talk about out teams’ projects. This helped us find unique ways to collaborate with them. Since it is out first year competing in iGEM, UT was able give us tips about iGEM and how to be successful. They were helpful in giving suggestions about how to fulfill medal requirements and have an effective iGEM project.

We were also invited to attend UT’s Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium (FURS). Here, a member from our team and UT’s team spoke about each project. This allowed each of our teams to gain experience with presenting their iGEM project. Having the opportunity to meet with UT was great to learn about how a new team is set up and develop a relationship for future collaborations and meet-ups.
