Operation 456

The educational outreach took place in the The University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, during the 4th, 5th, and 6th of October.

 

Students learned how to inoculate bacteria in LB Broth. This Bacteria are E. coli DH5⍺ inserted with the plasmid pUC19.

 

The "GlowGerm Kit" was used to teach students the importance of washing their hands effectively before and after working in the laboratory.

 

Students started the second day of workshops with DNA Extraction of pUC19 from the bacteria they inoculated the day before.

 

Students used Digestion, Ligation, Transformation and Gel Electrophoresis techniques.
