Prototype Examples created in Class:

  • A device that uses Lactococcus Lactis as a chassis to degrade Chlorinated Biphenyl compounds to prevent PCB toxicity in humans.
  • Genetically modified Escherichia Coli as a Microbial Fuel Cell. Synthetic Symbiosis to optimize the Acacias Mangium’s phytoremediation process of Methylmercury in contaminated soils.
  • Detect the presence of glucose as an indicator of lignocellulose hydrolysis into its monomers. This prototype would be a convenient tool for optimization experiments and process control.
