We performed the induction of the cooper and cadmium construction using different concentrations of CuCl2 and CdCl2, respectively. We tested different concentrations and induction times in order to optimize the pellet colouring. We took some pictures of the results.

We had a special day since we went to visit Grupo AN, our new sponsor, and enterprise leader of agro-food sector in Spain. They took us around their different facilities in Navarre, so we had the opportunity to take some water samples coming from different processes. Taking advantage of the tour around our community, we picked up several water samples from rivers situated at “nitrate vulnerable zones”. We are planning to use these samples to test our biosensors.

Once we had our biosensors ready to use, we tested the water samples collected from different sources around Navarre. For that purpose, we prepared the preinoculum for nitrate (amilGFP and amilGFP), mercury, cooper and cadmium constructions.
29th August 2019
We already have all the constructions finished and ready for induction. Regarding the 2 nitrate constructions and the coper one, we have started the induction tests with the samples we took from the different water types, by the moment we are testing with the samples from 1 to 7. As to cadmium and mercury we have done the induction test
