The A.D.N. (Airborne Detector for Nucleic acids) was conceived to be a user-friendly portable airborne pathogen detector meant to improve air quality monitoring in various settings including hospitals and agri-food industries. The device’s operating mode relies on microfluidics-based nucleic acid extraction, and detection of target sequences by molecular sensors. The sensors are based on the riboregulator system, more specifically on the toehold switches technology, which provides specificity. |

Designing our molecular tool with the help of structure prediction is an essential step to verify the stability
of both the structure itself and the action the target has on the unfolding.
By integrating modeling feedback, diverse technical expertise, ethical considerations, and compared societal impact, we aim to validate our problem approach as well as developed solution.
