About

Ryan is not only this year's iGEM graduate student mentor, he is also a veteran of the UCSC iGEM program. Ryan is a 1st graduate student in the Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology department with a focus in Metabolic Engineering and Bioinformatics. He is currently attempting to produce biofuel and purify it as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels. Whether he is helping track down bugs on the wiki or helping troubleshoot wetlab experiments, he is always willing to pause his research to help out the team. Ryan hopes to one day pursue a phd and create his own startup.
