Team

We are a team of 8 students from different backgrounds and are all passionate about synthetic biology. Guided by experienced supervisors and by previous iGEM competitors, we have worked to provide a proof of concept for a new approach to cancer therapy.

This is Diana. She is a 3rd year Biochemistry student and is often regarded as a jack of all trades. Passionate about any secrets DNA has to hide, she can't decide whether studying it or modifying it is more interesting (#synbio). If she is not studying, she can be often found at the closest cinema or playing Metroidvania games on her computer.

This is Saverio! He is a 2nd year Biochemical Engineering student who loves engineering small cells to do everything... *cough...cough*... synthetic biology! He is the only trilingual in the team! If you dont find him working on iGEM stuff, he will most probably be stuck watching food related videos on YouTube!

This is Rupali! A 2nd year Natural Scientist, who loves Organic Chemistry and learning about new developments in SynBio. If she's not found working on stuff for iGEM, she can be found curled up in a cosy chair with a book and bubble tea!

This is Matas, a biochemical engineering student who wants to experience everything iGEM has to offer, from lab work to coding. Always seen strolling into meetings with his headphones, which he probably wouldn't take of if he wasn't asked to. He considers a 3pm meal breakfast since he spent the previous night reading SynBio papers.

Presenting Sofía! She's a 3rd-year Biochemistry student. She's passionate about Gene Regulation and Genetic Engineering. She's still deciding whether applying SynBio to treat diseases is actually more difficult than getting some sunlight in London.

This is Vlad, a biochem student who is passionate about synthetic biology. Currently his life cycle consists of pulling all-nighters in library modelling cute proteins and sleeping during PCR in lab.

This is Clare! Just finished her Natural Sciences degree, she’s really fallen in love with Synthetic Biology over the past two years. She can usually be found lurking near the baked goods and coffee at conferences trying to learn about the latest and greatest in Synbio.

This is Kostas! Biotech is his life and he's doing everything to keep it so. Everything apart from the iGEM project. He can be found running between buildings and people to juggle 17 projects simultaneously and get some exercise in the meantime.
