Why we become iGEMers?

—The Stories of Chinese iGEMers from interviews

In iGEMer’s opinion, the long-term goal of iGEM is actually to hope for a model of academic competition. Not only to realize the systematization and engineering of biology, it also dedicates to promote the open source and transparent development of biological tools, and finally to have access to help build an engineering system that can safely and effectively apply biotechnology. iGEM is a process of biological design and research based education, and academy is the essence. But it definitely means more to all iGEMers in their self-development and even to the advancement of scientific study. “More creative. More hard-working. More cohesive.”We have learned this fully by working with our team and competing with our strong but lovely rivals. IGEM makes better ‘us’
