Team Leader

Zikang Huang, Chunyu Chen

We thank Zikang Huang for leading the team through this year and participating in every aspect of our project.

We thank Chunyu Chen for assisting Zikang in leader's work and for completing most of the administrative work.

Lab Worker

Zikang Huang, Genzhe Lu, Lize Sun, Ji Gao, Site Feng, Zihan Zhai, Meng Fang, Chuheng Qing, Hongrui Liu, Chunyu Chen

We thank them for designing and constructing all the plasmids, collecting and analyzing data.

Lab Support

We thank Pilong Li and his Ph.D student, Ru Li for their help on designing a better phase in E.coli.

Once we came across the problem that the rather low fluidity of phase formed in E.coli. More polymerizable proteins like GCN(3), GCN(4), 1i4k genes were suggested and provided by Prof. Pilong Li. 3HSB, PixD, PixE, FUS, CIB1, Cry2 were provided by Ru Li from Pilong lab, who also shared her experience of controlling phase separation by light in mammalian cells. #http://www.cls.edu.cn/PrincipalInvestigator/pi/index2786.shtml#

We thank Peking University for their help on providing plasmids and experience on phase separation. SIM and SUMO were provided by Jianzhao Yang, who also generously shared his experience on constructing phase separation system in S.cerevisiae. In order to observe asymmetric cell division more directly, Boyan Li and Cheng Li helped us to do microfluidics experiment.

Human Practice Worker

Zikang Huang, Genzhe Lu, Ji Gao, Bowen Chen, Jiayi Li, Meng Fang, Jiale Fu, Chunyu Chen

We thank them for introducing the idea of iGEM & our project to others and bringing back advice and expectations to improve our design.

Human Practice Support

Thanks to the Beijing Institute of Technology, China Science and Technology Museum, Southern University of Science and Technology, and all the members of the online and offline community for their assistance and participation in our human practice.

Wiki & Poster

Zihan Zhai, Jiale Fu, Bowen Chen

We thank them for designing the fantastic Wiki pages and attractive posters.

Modelling

Meng Fang, Bowen Chen

We thank them for building the mathematic model for our PhASE.

Instructor

Prof. Guoqiang Chen, Prof. Zhirong Sun, Dr. Peng Li

We acknowledge our instructors for their encouragement and guidance. Prof. Guoqiang Chen and Prof. Zhirong Sun supervised the progress of our project and provided suggestions on project orientation and schedule arrangement. Dr. Peng Li helped us build the team, determine our team spirit, trained us to get familiar with molecular cloning strategies and safety issues, and offered his help on reagent ordering.

Special thanks to

Huizhen Cao, Jinyu Wang

Huizhen Cao, Jinyu Wang, working in Biomedical Imaging Research Center, Tsinghua University, helped us out when using confocal microscope. And iGEMers in other teams who offered suggestions for us, subjects who spared their time completing our surveys, and others for all their help.

Fundraising help and advice

The school of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University provided all the funds for this activity. Dr. Peng Li assisted us with the funding of the laboratory. Finance professor Lijuan Wang and Prof. Guoqiang Chen assisted us in the use of funds. Prof. Dong Liu provided support for our fund allocation.

Team training and Project start

Tsinghua university offers dozens of elective courses related to synthetic biology, including theories and experiments. Our team members took different classes at different times according to their interests and schedules. With the permission of our teachers, we can provide course Outlines and materials to the world free of charge. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Our brainstorming started in March 2019. In fact, we've been thinking about synthetic biology for as long as we've been involved. Our experiment began on April 6, 2019. The entire iGEM project began on November 11, 2018. On this day, we begin to recruit team members openly on campus.

Thanks for your support !
