1. Registration and Giant Jamboree Attendance
SZPT-CHINA has registered for iGEM and will be sending 7 team members to the Giant Jamboree in Boston in the upcoming weeks.
2. Competition Deliverables
We have completed this wiki, designed a PowerPoint and poster for presentation, and have filled out the judging form as well.
3. Attributions
To see what work each member's attribution and what other people friendly support for your project.
4. Project Inspiration and Description
Hypertension is a worldwide health problem. In the project inspiration page, we made a detailed introduction. Check out our inspiration page.
5. Characterization
We have added quantitative experimental characterization data to an existing Part from the registry: BBa_K1830002,BBa_K1841001.
1. Validated Part
We have designed many new parts related to our project works and documented the characterization on Part's Registry. We followed by successful DNA shipments of these parts, such as BBa_K3142008,BBa_K3142010,BBa_K3142011.
2. Collaboration
Our team collaborated with SZU-CHINA for holding a lecture on more than 300 people about synthetic biology. Because we are a new team, our understanding of the iGEM competition is not deep enough. In the course of the competition, the SZU-CHINA team gave advice on various aspects such as time schedule and human practice. In addition, we collaborated with UCAS-CHINA and NWU-China. Please read more on our collaborations page.
3. Human Practices
Check our human practices overview to see what approaches we used to investigate about hypertension issue and connect with our communities, and our work is socially responsible for a better world.
1. Integrated Human Practices
Our human practice is a mirror to our project, as we were constantly improving our project, applied design, based on others feedback. Our team incorporated a novel communications paradigm in our interaction with stakeholders, including free clinic, discussions with academic researchers, hypertension patients, industry executives. A holistic assessment of these interactions allowed us to make crucial technical decisions and tailor our design to specifically meet stakeholder needs. Please see the entire storyline at our Integrated Human Practices page.
Additionally, we have organized a series of public engagement activities to make more people, such as free clinic, Debate Competition, Lecture and many more. Please see the wonderful interaction at our public engagement page.
2. Improve Previous Parts
We have improved existing part: BBa_K1696005, to a new part: BBa_K3142000. And we produced experimental data of both parts in comparison.
3. Model our Project
To predict the regulation of the expression of antihypertensive peptides by our acid sensors, we established a model about expression of the protein of interest. Please check our model page.
4. Demonstration of our Work
Based on antihypertensive peptides, we have made our probiotics a product that aids in lowering blood pressure. You can learn more in our demonstration page.
