ATTRIBUTIONS

Overview

During this time, we accomplished a lot of work, including but not limited to: design of our project, wet lab experiments, modelling, human practice, wiki, parts, art design and presentation. The work is mainly done by the following team members, which is shown in this table.

Attributions in detail

Zibin Huang

-Modelling: mainly responsible for modelling and finished the modeling part of our work.

-Human Practice: participated in the 6th CCiC in Shenzhen and helped modify the modeling part of the public account, as well as discussing the current social reaction of the new therapy represented by the oncolytic virus therapy.

Xiaohang Liang

-Modeling: model establishment, parameter estimation, data analysis, paper writing.

-Human Practice: attend 2019 CCiC, scientific article (When Synthetic Biology meet with Mathematics) writing.

-Wiki: wiki writing(modeling).

-Presentation: modeling part.

Xingyu Li

-Wet lab: cell culture, molecular cloning, plasmid extraction, flow cytometry, virus harvest, reverse transcription and identification.

-Human Practice: interview with professors, questionnaire design and analysis, writing for official accounts.

-Art Design: homepage design and advise.

-Wiki: outline for project description, manuscript for homepage, background and problem definition.

-Presentation: introduction.

Xiangxue Li

-Art Design: In charge of art design including logo, bookmark, name cards as well as our poster and presentation slides.

-Wiki: designing, painting illustrations and making animation.

-Human practice: making stickers.

Lizhi Guan

-Wet lab: cell culture (293T, HCT-116, HCT-8, Bxpc, A549, B16 tumor cell lines etc. ), measurement of the infection rate and lethality effect of M1 virus on tumor cells. Molecular cloning like extraction of plasmids, DNA purification and so on. Pre-experiment of directed evolution that was mentioned in the initial ideas, including serial passaging of M1 virus.

-Human Practice: participated in one of the interviews with professors as well as wrote an article in our official accounts.

-Wiki: future perspectives, inspiration and initial ideas.

Yuantao Liu

- Wet lab: construction of M1 virus. Molecular cloning, plasmid extraction, PCR, reverse transcription and in vitro transcription

-Wiki: assistant person in charge of webpage production including website visual design, coding, testing.

-Human Practice: interview with professors

-Art Design: give some suggestions to the web page

Shijian Song

-Wet lab: construction of M1 virus. Molecular cloning such as DNA purification, DNA gel extraction, extraction of plasmids, PCR, RTPCR and so on.

-Human practice: managing our Wechat Official Account, participated in all of the interviews with professors and the dinner party with local virologists.

-Wiki: the writing of the Collaboration part.

-Parts: Molecular cloning such as extraction of plasmids.

-Art Design: The dubbing actor of our team video.

-Presentation: sharing the lab results part.

Fengmin Yang

-Wet Lab: General manager of the experimental group. Conducting molecular cloning experiments including PCR, restriction enzyme digestion of plasmid and PCR product, gel extraction purification and construction of recombinant plasmids. Cell culture, flow cytometry and cell viability analysis (Bxpc-3, Bt474, J82, A549, Hct116, Hct8, Mcf-7, HepG2, etc.). Pre-experiment of directed evolution of M1 virus on several cell lines (Bt474, A549, J82, Bxpc-3). Data analysis.

-Parts: gel extraction purification.

-Wiki: results.

Weisheng Lu

-Modeling: data visualization.

-Wiki: main person in charge of webpage production including website visual design, coding, testing.

Jiayi Zeng

-Wet lab: cell culture (Vero, BHK-21, 293T), measurement of the titer of M1 virus on tumor cells. Amplification of M1 virus used for cells and animal experiment. Measurement of the infection rate of M1 virus on tumor cells. Pre-experiment of directed evolution that was mentioned in the initial ideas, including serial passaging of M1 virus.

-Human Practice: Participated in several interviews with professors. Wrote the first article in our official accounts. Participated in the visit to GCP office in SYSU Cancer Center and had consultation with the director. Had the supporting education in Meizhou city. Participated in the public survey, making and spreading the questionnaire.

-Wiki: Human Practice, Education and Public Engagement.

-Art Design: The dubbing actor of our team video

Shanshan Chen

Student leader of our team.

-Wet lab: digestion, gel extraction purification, construction of recombinant plasmids, PCR, in vitro transcription, transformation, virus harvest, virus purification.

Yihui Wang

-Wet lab: cell culture (cell thawing/subculture/cryopreservation),as well as testing M1 virus infection rate in different cells with different treatments via flow cytometry.

-Parts: building and characterizing the basic and composite parts, also characterizing some existing parts.

-Human practice: interviewing with the professor.

-Wiki: writing for the safety and parts chapter.

Shunjie Hu

-Wet lab: mainly involved in molecular experiments, including the construction of the synthetic virus. Offering assistance to teammates who carried out cell experiments is also included.

-Human Practices: conducting interviews with several professors with teammates as well as recording and collating the contents of those interviews. Following the support team to the local high school to promote the knowledge of synthetic biology and responsible for the writing of some of the contents of the education.

-Parts: construction of components.

-Wiki: assisting in writing the introduction of parts.

Xi Wang

-Wet lab: cell culture (cell thawing/subculture/cryopreservation), operating the cell viability assays (MTT assay) and testing M1 virus infection rate in different cells with different treatments via flow cytometry.

-Human practice: heading for MeiZhou to give lessons about synthetic biology to students in Jiaying middle school and introduction of iGEM and the project we have been working in. Writing an article about the relationship between food and synthetic biology and published on our team’s official account.

-Wiki: results part.
