We were also delighted to receive postcards from the other teams who also participated in the exchange! It was cool to see what designs other teams made!
Fun Fact: Participating in this postcard exchange actually inspired the superhero-based designs that you see on our wiki!

iGEMxSDGs Instagram Challenge
A picture is worth a thousand words: OSU iGEM challenged us to do the iGEMxSDGs Instagram Challenge, hosted by the Costa Rica, Tuebingen, and TAS Taipei iGEM teams, which aimed to explain the sustainability development goals of our project in an image. Ohio State iGEM In early June, we Skyped with the iGEM team at The Ohio State University, talking to them about our team structure, work distribution, and project timeline, since we seemed to have similar inner workings except for timelines since we started our overall planning process earlier. We had a discussion over this to help advise their project timeline planning as well as tips from our team to theirs.
RHIT iGEM We had some ties to the team from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology due to existing friendships between some members, so we kept in contact with them throughout the summer. Most of our collaboration with them was on building our wikis, where some of their coders were able to assist us in bugs we had been having with screen sizing and responsiveness, and we helped with proofreading content on theirs as well as giving feedback on other various aspects of the site.
OSU, RHIT, and us also got together on our campus for an informal meet and greet. We did several things throughout the day, such as hosting tours of Bindley Bioscience Center (as well as letting them observe some of our own lab work) and of our campus, having more in-depth discussions about our projects and how they were going along at that point in time, and letting them sit in on our weekly meeting with our faculty advisors. We look forward to supporting each other in Boston!
