Project Attributions
While each team member contributed to achieving the goals of our project, our success would not have been possible without the help of many others, both within NYU and from our outside contacts. We would like to sincerely thank those who have been a part of our journey.
Kaavya Ashok was involved in assembling the gene circuit and isolating the flavonoid products. She also taught principles of synthetic biology to the team, and she was part of the team’s pitch in the InnoVention Startup competition.
Malini Basu contributed to the wet lab portion of the project. She was an integral part of the gene circuitry team.
Adler Guerrero was involved in the genetic circuit team where he taught wet lab techniques. He was also involved in outreach.
Ali Hasan was involved in the design and construction of the bioreactor. He also designed and manages the team wiki.
Kelly Huang was involved in assembling the gene circuit and competing in the InnoVention Startup competition. She also helped to isolate the flavonoid products using HPLC.
Steven Ionov contributed to the wet lab portion of the team, working to assemble the gene circuit as well as isolate the flavonoid products. He was also involved in the entrepreneurial efforts of the team to establish Synspectra as a company.
Michelle Lam was involved in the wet lab portion of the project and mainly worked on the gene circuit and helps with HPLC. She also runs the team's Instagram account and handles the social media for NYU iGEM.
Neelam Pandya contributed to the wet lab portion of the project as a member of the gene circuit team.
David Sung contributed to the bioreactor team. He also secured funding from the Leslie eLab Prototyping fund, a collaborative program offered by the Design Lab and Entrepreneurial Institute at NYU.
