Medals

Bronze:

1. Registration and Jamboree Attendance

Our team application was accepted on 30/03/2019 as we can see in this link: iGEM HUBU-WUHAN Registration.

2. Competition Deliverables

  1. Wiki
  2. Poster
  3. Presentation
  4. Judging form

The wiki page was finalized on 21 october as the deadline indicated. The poster and the presentation will be shown in the Giant Jamboree. Judging form was submited on 16 october and is visible for judges since that deadline.

3. Attributions

To visibilize attributions with the importance it deserves we made an special web page, visit it in the Attributions page.

4. Project Inspiration and Description

In order to provide a better and clearer understanding of our project, we made this page to introduce the inspiration and description for our project.

5. Characterization

We have succesfully carried out the InterLab Study. We have also provided experimental characterization data for the Ptet promoter coding sequence BBa_K2800027, wild type Pgap strong promoter coding sequence BBa_K2800013, monomeric RFP optimized for bacteria coding sequence BBa_J06504.

Silver:

1. Validated Part

We registered dozens of new parts, and added quantitative experimental characterization data to three of them: Pgap-PhoD-Cel9D-Flag-T0152r coding sequence BBa_K3241118, Pgap-PhbC-PhbA-PhbB coding sequence BBa_K3241040, B1005-up coding sequence BBa_K3241111. Please see the Characterization page for more information.

2. Collaborations

iGEM would not be what it is without interaction between teams. We have done three collaborations and a meetup during this summer. To check out what we have done please go to our Collaborations page.

3. Human Practices

According to the needs of the project, we have completed different Human Practices in different times in terms of Meetup, Investigation, Education & Public Engagement, Prospect, so that our project is more relevant. Here is our summary of Human Practices at various stages of the project.

Gold:

1. Integrated Human Practices

The way we used our Human Practices work to improve and adapt the design of project can be read in the next link: Human Practices.

2. Improve a Previous Part

The part we improved is: tetR/tetA promoter BBa_K2800025. We did this improvement by creating the new part : Ptet-W coding sequence BBa_K3241031.

As we all know that the inducible promoter Ptet exhibits leakage expression. We reduced the leakage of the promoter expression by adding six bases after the sequence of the promoter Ptet, thereby reducing the effect of promoter leakage on cell metabolism. For more information, check out ourImprove page.

3. Model Your Project

In order to avoid redundant transcriptional events waste energy and stop high flux of RNAP generated by strong promoters so as to not interfere with the next transcription unit, we built a biophysical model to predict the strength of terminator.

4. Demonstration of Your Work

In order to demonstrate our engineered system works, we document every step from waste cartons to bioproducts. You can check it going to the Demonstrate page.
