Students

George Luan

George Luan is the co-leader and researcher who is always finding helpful information. He also played a crucial role in building our website this year. Besides iGEM, he also researches with scientists from a school of basic medicine in his hometown. The only activities that can keep him from the lab are running, listening to classical music, face-timing with friends, and being a comedian.

Anika Vercauteren

Anika is the co-leader and works mostly in the lab, helping and teaching other members. Along with science, she loves to help backstage in the theatre and spend time with the people who make her laugh.

Grace Goff

Grace is a co-leader and she writes most of the emails. She has been part of the club since eighth grade. Aside from science, she loves writing poems, reading books of all genres, playing board games with her family, and eating food from around the world.

Kristine Huynh

Kristine is the engineer as well as the creative mind behind our madness. She loves painting, working with technology, breaking boards in half, and drinking boba tea with her friends.

George Shi is the artistic member of the team who helped establish our human practice. Along with being involved in the lab, he enjoys being a DJ and taking pictures of all his friends and family.

Gloria Zhang

Gloria joined the iGEM team last year. She is a student who is strong in science and math. She mainly takes part in editing team wiki, as well as participates in lab work.

Tornito Abello

Tonito is the motivator of the team and keeps us going, unless one of his 5 dogs are sick. When not in the lab, Tonito is singing and dancing on stage.
