Members
Ania Kurowska
Ania is a fourth year Biotechnology student and wants to go into further studies after graduating. She was mainly involved in the lab work and genetic designs, as well as, in contacting the whisky industry.
Anmol Trehan
Anmol is a third year Biotechnology student and aims to establish his very own biotechnology company in the future. Anmol was mainly responsible for wet lab work, graphic designing and writing the reviews for the project.
Annabel Wright
Annabel is a fourth year Biotechnology student and aims to enter the industry after she graduates. Annabel led Human Practices and Funding for the team, and was further involved in web design, final design and lab work.
Charlotte von Koppenfels
Charlotte is a fourth year Biochemistry student and plans to go into further studies after graduating. She was involved in various aspects of the project, including the wiki, lab work and obtaining whiskey by-products.
Elsa Broemmelsiek
Elsa is a 3rd year Archaeology student. As president of the Synthetic Biology Society, she is an extremely skilled communicator and thus incharge of our outreach programme in collaboration with St. Andrews University. She also worked as an additional hand in the lab, on our hydrogen collection system, and some of our graphic design.
Jay Gu
Jay is a fourth year Biochemistry student and plans for further studies after graduating. Jay was mainly involved in the overall research and design of the project, Rhodobacter culturing and transformation.
Kieran Benn
Kieran is a fourth year Chemistry student and wants to pursue a PhD in the future. Kieran led hydrogen collection for the team and was involved in human practices.
Maria Fernandez
Maria is in the fourth year of her Biotechnology degree and is interested in working in the industry. She was involved in all aspects of the project, from leading the relevant safety and risk assessments, to lab work, to wiki design, she lent a helping hand wherever needed.
Aleksandra (Ola) Sobieska
Ola is in her fourth year studying Computational Physics. She is passionate about finding out how biology works despite its messiness from a theoretical point of view. She worked on all the simulations related to the project.
Rokas Petrenas
Rokas is a third year Biochemistry student and plans to do a PhD in the future. Rokas led our scientific research and was mostly involved in genetic construct design and Rhodobacter transformation.
