Basic Parts
Our candidate for the best new basic part is our single chain insulin analog with a linker peptide. This single chain insulin has modifications to its A and B chains to increase its bioactivity. It also has a linker between the A and B chains which promotes the folding of the peptide. The modified A and B chains of insulin are called SCI-57 and the linker is one of the many discussed in the paper Rajpal et al.
We have shown that the protein (Rajpal 15 design with SCI57 a-b chains) has been expressed via western blot. We supported the western blot data with an ICC assay. Where we visualised our his tag containing proteins.
