Founded in 1958, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) is a national key university directly under the administration of the ministry of education.
BUCT has 3 campuses and 16 colleges, offering 55 undergraduate majors.
In the 21st century, which is full of opportunities and challenges, all the teachers and students of BUCT will continue to uphold the school motto and the great spirit. With their own practical action, they strive to build Beijing University of Chemical Technology into a high-level research university with distinctive characteristics and international influence.
Lab
The Department of Biological Engineering has National Energy R&D Center for Biorefinery, and Beijing Key Laboratory of Bioprocess. We currently have 23 faculty and staff members, including 8 professors and 8 associate professors. Among them, there are 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 1 Distinguished Young Scholars from NSFC. The department puts much focus on linkage between research and application in industry. In past 3 years, hundreds of papers have been published in fields of bioreaction engineering, bioseparation technology, bioresource technology, metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, fermentation engineering, bioprocess engineering, protein engineering, and biomaterial, etc.
In recent years, the College of Life Sciences and Technology has made tremendous success in research. This is demonstrated by the 130 million funds for research and technology transfer, more than 700 papers published in EI, and more than 100 patents applied in five years.
